This emergency route design absorbs the Welcome Bay section of the R2 route into the R1.
Morning service
The route follows the R1 route plan, starting at the normal time. Welcome Bay School students will board the bus much earlier than normal. arriving at school at around 7.55am. The bus will arrive at Tauranga Schools a few minutes later than normal.
afternoon service
The route follows the R1 route plan, starting at the normal time. Welcome Bay School students will board the bus much later than normal – the bus won’t arrive at Welcome Bay until around 3.55pm.
Please note: you may not have your usual driver delivering this service. Please ensure that you are waiting at the bus stop in good time and be prepared to wave down the driver. On afternoon services, students should be ready to let the driver know when their stop is coming up – older students can assist younger students with this. Parents can help by waiting at the stop and flagging down the bus as it approaches.
